Key Information
Dear Parent / Carer,
The GCSE and vocational awards results this year will be published on Thursday 12th August. Please note that this is much earlier in August than in previous years.
Due to the continuing safety measures we need to have in place over the summer, it will not be possible to run our 2021 results day in the same way as previous years. To manage the number of people on site, each student will be allocated a time slot to come into the Brownson Building, at the Academy to collect their results. You will receive a text outlining how you can book into these time slots shortly. Each slot has a maximum of 20 students.
Time slots available are:
- 9:30am – 10:00am
- 10:00am – 10:30am
- 10:30am – 11:00am
- 11:00am – 11:30am
If you would prefer the results to be posted, please email exams@theoaksacademy.co.uk. These, and any results not collected by 12:30pm, will then be posted by the following day, by first class post.
This year has been particularly challenging for our students and staff in ensuring we gather the most accurate and reflective evidence of pupils attainment. To help students and parents understand how the results have been calculated this year, the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) have produced a guidance document outlining the procedure followed; this includes the appeals process. Please follow the link to access this: https://www.jcq.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/JCQ-Guidance-for-Students-and-Parents-on-Summer-2021.pdf
Upon collection of the results, we understand that there may be some questions around the grades received. Members of the Senior Leadership team will be available throughout the morning, where we can answer any questions you may have and assist with next steps, if necessary.
If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at chighfield@theoaksacademy.co.uk
Yours sincerely,
Mrs C. Highfield
Assistant Headteacher for Progress

Additional Learning Support
Revision Hub
Pupils are encouraged to access the Revision Hub on Monday’s, Thursday’s and Friday’s in room 22 and 23. They can use this facility before school from 8am and at the end of the school day until 4pm.
The Revision Hub is an area of school where pupils have access to computers, revision materials and a rotation of subject specific staff. A quiet, calm space in which they can focus and complete revision and specific tasks to achieve their maximum potential.
Pupils will be rewarded for attending with rewards that have value and meaning to them.
Saturday Morning School
At points throughout the academic year identified pupils will be invited to attend Saturday morning sessions.
These will be planned and delivered to target areas of need within subjects.
The first of these took place last Saturday, where pupils’ attended a Maths session focusing on Foundation and Higher Tier Algebra.
