The Oaks Academy is seeking to appoint three Teaching Assistants. Working closely with the teaching staff, and other teaching assistants, supporting with the delivery of learning activities, and work programmes, including the preparation of materials and resources.  You will support and encourage students to develop their skills and knowledge, and give general guidance within and outside of the classroom.

The role includes taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under a system of supervision, supported by direction from the SENCO, teaching staff and in line with school policies and guidance. This may involve planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for the individuals/ groups and monitoring students. You will assess, record and report on the students’ achievement, progress and development.

A caring, flexible and common sense approach is important as well as being organised and proactive.

Teacher of History

The Oaks Academy is seeking to appoint a creative, enthusiastic classroom teacher to deliver History across all abilities at Key Stage 3 and 4.

The successful candidate will have an affinity with young people and be outward thinking in their approach to teaching and learning with the enthusiasm to develop this subject. This post offers an excellent opportunity for you to gain experience in teaching across all abilities at these key stages as part of the core curriculum. Pastoral Manager

The Oaks Academy are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, caring and highly effective individual to join our dedicated Pastoral Team. You will be working alongside professional and positive colleagues to help improve the attendance, behaviour and progress of our students. This is a challenging role and you will be faced with varying scenarios on a daily basis so should ideally possess the relevant experience required for this role. In addition to relevant experience, we are looking for someone who can be a role model, work alongside senior leaders in the Academy, has great communication skills, can manage a diverse workload and liaise effectively with external agencies. The ideal candidate should possess the following:

• Significant experience of working with children and young people in an education or community setting
• Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with children aged 11-16 years with mixed abilities
• Trained in safeguarding, including Prevent, and a commitment to CPD
• Professional experience of delivering child therapies desirable, however not essential
 
The position does include some administrative tasks and requires a good level of IT skills in order to maintain accurate student records, prepare reports and monitor impact through the examination and analysis of data.
The hours of work are 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term-time plus one week).
Grade 7. Pro-rata salary for hours and weeks – £21,038 – £23,830 p.a.

Teaching Assistant 1-1 Support

The Oaks Academy is seeking to appoint two Teaching Assistants to provide 1-1 support for named students. Working closely with the teaching staff, and other teaching assistants, supporting with the delivery of learning activities, and work programmes, including the preparation of materials and resources.  You will support and encourage students to develop their skills and knowledge, and give general guidance within and outside of the classroom.  We want to hear from anyone who has the skills and experience to effectively support our students. The role is demanding but rewarding.  High expectations for all the children are essential as is the ability to demonstrate excellent behaviour management skills. The role requires effective communication and teamwork skills.

The role includes taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under a system of supervision, supported by direction from the SENCO, teaching staff and in line with school policies and guidance. This may involve planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for the individuals/ groups and monitoring students. You will assess, record and report on the students’ achievement, progress and development.
