Dear Parents/carers,

Unfortunately we are experiencing some issues with our website which should be rectified very soon.  In the mean time we have created a temporary page which contains a number of key links and communication from the academy.  Please visit www.thelearningalliance.co.uk/the-oaks-academy/ to explore the temporary page and The Learning Alliance Trust website.

Consent for Lateral Flow Testing (Covid-19)

Following the government’s announcement on Monday 4th January 2021, mass testing for Covid-19 in schools has been put on hold.  We will continue to arrange testing for staff and priority pupils who are accessing the on-site provision.

In order to do this, we need to obtain parental consent for lateral flow testing.  Thank you for all the responses received so far.  If you are yet to do, so please click on the ‘Microsoft Forms Icon’ to submit your response electronically.  Alternatively if you are unable to access the Forms link, then you can download the consent form by clicking here.

Those taking the test will be supervised by trained staff.  The ‘lateral flow’ tests are quick and easy using a swab of your nose and throat.  For under 18s, staff can oversee the swab process.  Results (which take around half an hour from testing) will be shared directly with staff and pupils participating. Where participants are under 16, parents or legal guardians will also be informed.  Please click the links to see the one page guide from the NHS on the process, alongside a Frequently Asked Questions document.

We strongly encourage all parents/carers to consent to testing and support the government’s efforts to control the spread of the virus.

Parent Survey

Please can we ask that you take a few moments to fill out our online learning parent survey.  This feedback will provide us with valuable information to support and improve our online learning provision.   Please click on the ‘Your Opinion Matters’ image to access the survey, results need to be in by Friday Lunchtime, thank you

Parent Support Meeting

We are aware that some parents were unable to attend the virtual support meeting on Monday 4th January and some had a few issues with audio.  We have organised for a repeat of the parent support meeting at 4.30pm on Thursday 7th January.  Please ensure you enable your audio as you enter the meeting.

Thank you again for your support throughout this challenging time, and we are sure that by working together and engaging positively with the government’s strategy we can help reduce the spread of the virus and potentially safe lives.

Mr Peter Kingdom
