Miss L Bailey SENDCO

My name is Laura Bailey and I am the Special Needs Coordinator in school.  I have ten years experience of working with pupils who have potential barriers to their learning.  My role is to ensure that these barriers do not prevent them from enjoying their school experience and from succeeding in all that they do. I have seven teaching assistants who work alongside me to ensure that pupils reach the best outcomes, and a Dyslexia Specialist Teacher who runs the Progress Group in year 7.
All staff at The Oaks Academy are dedicated to creating an inclusive culture for all our learners and we have an open door policy for parents.

Autism Support Consultancy are offering courses to parents in the local area.

If you are interested in being referred for one of these courses please contact our SENDCO Miss L Bailey on

SEND Review Dates – 16th and 17th May 2019

The SEND team were really pleased to meet with 41 parent/s/carers and hold 8 telephone consultations over the two days to discuss their Children’s individual provisions.  It was a good opportunity to discuss any concerns and to celebrate their achievements this schools year. We look forward to the next one and would encourage your attendance if your child is on our additional needs register.
